Station 4 - Meaning

1. What
   Students must decide which affix from a group of affixes will correctly complete a word. They must also identify a meaning for the affix.
2. How
   Students see a blank attached to one word in the sentence provided. The sentence will help reveal the meaning of the word, so it should be read through before an affix is chosen. Affixes that may be typed into the blank are listed in a box above the sentence. If the scrolling arrows are activated, students should be sure to scroll down to see the complete list of choices before choosing one to type into the blank. Once the affix is typed in, a definition for the affix must be chosen. All choices on the page must be made before the program can provide a score.
3. Why
   This activity is another opportunity to recognize affix use in common words and understand how they affect word meanings.
