Note - both groups started with 63% of their students below grade level (from .1 to 4 years below grade level).
- Word Lab users: low starters maintained their group's average of 1.7 years in gains.
- Non-Users: low starters maintained their group's average of 1.0 years in gains.
In other words, average gains for the two groups reflect those of struggling readers as well as good readers.
